Things to remember
Given that Lago di Sorapis is a highly popular destination, the trails can become quite crowded during peak season. To avoid walking amidst a crowd of tourists and hikers, I highly recommend starting your hike early in the morning before the majority of visitors arrive.
Additionally, it's worth noting that there's a restaurant near the lake offering hot food and drinks, as well as convenient restroom facilities. This makes for a comfortable and refreshing stop during your hike. What could be better than a snack with a beautiful view?
Getting There
The trailhead to Lago di Sorapis is located at Passo Tre Croci, a mountain pass accessible by car or bus from the nearby towns of Cortina d’Ampezzo and Misurina. The parking is available at the pass, making it convenient for those driving to the location.
We decided to take a bus from Cortina d'Ampezzo for our journey. You can check the latest schedule and purchase tickets directly at the bus station. Keep in mind that the hiking season in the Dolomites ends in mid-September, which also reduces the frequency of buses operating in the mountains. Be sure to consider this when planning your trip to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
